You have gone to the pet store and your adorable child holds a puppy and plays with the lovable puppy without any incident. After your child cried for it, you decide to buy it home after many moments of hesitation. Your family happily plays with it for a few months and everything seems to be perfect. It was only recently when all of sudden your child has difficulty breathing. You definitely wouldn’t think that the innocent puppy is the cause to this problem. Unfortunately, it’s the dog allergy that is causing these frustrating problems.

Basically, dog allergies are caused by dog dander or dead skin cells. Puppies do not have lots of dead skin so their owners probably will not experience any dog allergies symptoms for a few months as it takes usually a long period of time for a puppy to develop dander. It’s impossible to find a dog with no dander because it absurd to find a skinless dog. But, certain breeds produce more dog dander than others and it could worsen dog allergies conditions. It’s better to have your child exposed to younger dogs of one to two years older (of the ideal breed) you are thinking of buying to see if your child has any forms of dog allergies.
Cocker Spaniels, Hounds, German Shepherds and Irish Setters are the worst dogs for people who have dog allergies. Each of these breeds is known to renew their skin more than most dogs. Which means these dogs will produce much more pet dander then the average dog. If you happen to have one of these dogs and you or a member of your family is suffering from severe dog allergies there are things you can try for any improvements in the condition rather than getting rid of your precious dog.

Firstly, you might want to make sure that the dog is causing your allergies. Very often, a dog will cause other similar allergies because they carry allergens which they got from outdoor onto their body. If this is the case you need to restrict your dog’s outdoor activities to prevent this from happening.
Secondly, never under estimate the effectiveness of air purifiers because it can help you to take dog dander out of the air. A HEPA filter works great to capture very small particles that cannot be seen by our naked eyes. It’s best to keep your dog out of your bedroom area and off the couch. You will need to vacuum on a regular basis and some vacuums can actually make things worse by taking in dog dander that is trapped in the carpet and blow it outwards into the air. If all these don’t work out, you may want to confine the dog to one or two rooms in the house to control the whole dog allergy situation.

Lastly, it is paramount that you take control of your dog allergies as it could deteriorate your health condition and causing permanent damage. These effective measures can reduce your dog allergies symptoms only if you follow them strictly and do not give in to your dog. Dog allergies can be an irritating and frustrating issue. I know that it can be hard to implement them but think about eliminating any discomfort moments when you are living together with your dear dog.

Do you believe in love at first sight? I’m sure you do because you must have fell in love with your lovely cat when you saw it in a pet shop or the adoption centre. Like you, there are many cat lovers who will definitely refuse to part with their beloved pet because of a cat allergy. You might be struggling with the various cat allergy symptoms and you are not going to give up anywhere soon. Well, if you know how to manage your cats, your cat allergy symptoms and the reasons, you won’t have a hard time spending some quality time with your cat. Let’s take a look at the few ways on how to make the best out of your situation.

No More Jumping On Your Bed
Try your best not to have your cats playing or jumping on your bed. I know that this might be the hardest habit to overcome but it’s rather a small price to pay to wake up clear headed in the morning without your cat allergy bothering you for the rest of the day.

No Trespassing
Your bedroom has to become a cat-free area and this should greatly reduce the allergens to almost zero. I know your cats are cute and you want them to accompany you in your bedroom. However, I would beg you not to give up on your cats. They will eventually find somewhere else to curl up and you’ll find yourself suffering a lot less from your cat allergy.

HEPA works wonder
Actually, HEPA air filters do a great job of cleaning the hair in your home. Considering that cat dander is so hard to pick up, this can be a much more efficient way to improve your cat allergy condition. Some other filters might not work as well for cat dander because regular air filters are not actually intended to use for cat allergy problems.

HEPA Vacuum
You might have overlook that vacuuming is an important task. It’s a good idea to invest in a HEPA vacuum cleaner and you would need to vacuum your walls, furry carpets, furniture, and practically anything else that id under your roof other than Grandma’s fine china. I would recommend you to do it at least thrice a week to reduce your cat allergy.

Steam Cleaning
Using a vapour steam cleaner to clean your home will exterminate the proteins thoroughly in the cat dander. This fact has been scientifically proven. You can get rid of almost every trigger to your cat allergy symptoms at home by just spending a couple of hundreds.

Bath Your Cat
I know that this can be a nightmare than your cat allergy but you simply have to do it at least once a month. It is ideal to bath your cat whenever possible. This is the most direct way in improving your cat allergy.
Lastly, if you implement these tips into your daily life, you should be able to see visible results for your cat allergy very shortly. Most importantly, you don’t need to give your adorable cat away when you realize that you suffer from a cat allergy.

Your friends who suffer from cat allergies can definitely tell you a huge list of the frustration and discomfort associated with its consequences. Many cat allergy sufferers have tried to identify their allergy triggers hoping to avoid the symptoms. For true cat lovers especially, a cat allergy can mean a lot of issues when dealing with choosing or keeping a cat.

Basically, a cat allergy stems from a person’s sensitivity to cat dander which is the skin cells that shed through the cat’s fur. This sensitivity to cat dander can be a minor issue which results in coughing, rashes, watery eyes, sneezing, and itching to a more severe issue which may results in swelling, shortness of breath and more.

It is obvious that those who have a cat allergy do not bring any cats into their home or to enter the homes of those who have cats in residence. However, there are some people who didn’t even find out that they have a cat allergy until they have come in close contact with their new cat in the home.
If you have a severe cat allergy, it’s important to find an alternative living arrangement for your cat. It’s a good idea to work with your doctor to determine the severity of your cat allergy. In the likely case of a minor to moderate cat allergy, there are ways to conquer the cat allergy so that you and your furry friend can live together harmoniously.

You can do a part by making sure you are using an efficient air filter to provide sufficient adequate ventilation and air flow in your house. You should vacuum more to get rid your house of as much dander as possible. Have your cat groomed at the veterinarian or another location outside the home so as not to indirectly trigger your cat allergy symptoms because of the fallen cat hair.
If you happen to be aware of your severity of the cat allergy before you buy or adopt a cat, you might want to consider shorter-haired cats. These cats don’t shed a lot and don’t require as much grooming as their long haired counterparts. In fact, you may find that you are less allergic to the shorter-haired breeds.
As a long term solution, you may want to work with your doctor to see whether allergy shots or medications are feasible for your case. This can save you a considerable amount of irritation and discomfort when the time comes – keeping you comfortable in your own home as well as the homes of other cat owners.
Lastly, determining your cat allergy is something that will hinder you from cat ownership. It is definitely up to you to decide (after seeking medical advice). Cat ownership is a long-term issue and should not be taken lightly. You won’t want to abandon your cat due to your inability to adapt to the symptoms of the cat allergy. Most importantly, you should not put your health at risk. However, if you are able to effectively control and manage both your cat allergy and the well-being for your cat, you will have a great time with your new pet.
